Vandalsoft Inc., an agritech startup, is on their way to break the entry barriers of the insect industry and solve other difficulties of farming through their insect smart farm system.
Under the agreement, Vandalsoft will supply a smart system that is able to breed mealworms (brown mealworms) automatically to MCE.
MCE is an early-stage startup in the green bio fields. They, as a Daedeok Special Zone research institute, specializes in insect bioconversion by using mealworms to ingest and decompose styrofoam, then converts them to produce high-quality, carbon-reducing humic acid fertilizer.

Vandalsoft will provide an advanced robot designed to seamlessly execute and operate feeding, collecting, and sorting functions required for mealworm breeding. Their new updated automated management system called Insect Hub will also be implemented at the corporate research center of MCE, which is currently under construction in Budae-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.
"We will expand our presence in the insect market by strengthening our partnership and collaborating on technology development related to insect breeding," said Lee Bong-hak, CEO of Vandalsoft.
Meanwhile, since signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last year, Vandalsoft and MCE have been working to expand the insect market by exchanging technologies and supplying devices related to insect breeding.
